We're looking to bring on two more 2D artists to the project that can work with us on a regular basis developing images and/or animations for the LCARS 47 suite. If you have the free time, Adobe Illustrator/Flash skills, let us know. LCARS 47 is a big project and is getting bigger, so we need people that can commit to its future development, helping us make LCARS 47 even more awesome. Let us know if you're interested by emailing Eleanor with "2D Artist" as the subject! You'll get your photo up on the Dev Team page and have regular Skype calls with the team. Location not important. You must have Skype.
Skills needed:
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, and/or
- Proficiency in Macromedia Flash 8 or highe
Software needed:
- Adobe Illustrator (or equivalent vector software with the ability to export to .ai, .swf formats), and/or
- Macromedia Flash 8 (or better with the ability to publish to Flash 8 using AS2)
- Skype - get it here
Knowledge of ActionScript2 would be useful, but not essential. Knowledge of Audacity would also be welcome.
I will check but I don't think Inkscape exports .ai.

I think it exports to .emf though. Not sure really; I've never used inkscape.
ReplyDeleteI am 15 so cant and don't have the software but I am doing graphics gcse and look closely at the screens on the programme so could design stuff. I am also doing music gcse and do films on YouTube so have a very strong understanding of audacity. Would love to help
ReplyDeleteYeah, you need to be 18, really, because we talk with users quite regularly to get feedback. Although there hasn't been any problems in the past as all the users have been fantastic; it would not be feasible to introduce a minor to a situation where they may be at risk. Even with parental consent and although our project is an informal one, I would not be okay with the safety concerns.
